In terms of specifications, the G4 sports a 5.5-inch display with 2560 x 1440 pixels of resolution, same as its predecessor. The screen is also said to be 11 percent more efficient than the display fitted into the G3. The device boasts of Slim Arc design, which means it has a slight curve, but not as much as the G Flex. G4 owners will also get 100GB of free Google Drive storage space for two years, while the native gallery, music, and file explorer apps have Drive integrated into them. On the camera front, the G4 comes with a new 16-megapixel sensor with f/1.8 lens and improved image stabilisation. It gets a new ‘color spectrum sensor’ with more accurate color and white balance. For selfie lovers, it comes with an 8MP front camera.
The device runs Android 5.1 Lollipop along with a layer of LG’s custom interface. It uses something that LG calls ‘human-centric UX 4.0, promising a more intuitive experience. It offers features like Quick Shot that allows taking pictures even without opening the camera app and simply double tapping on the rear key even when the display is off. There’s a new Gallery that has been designed for faster scrolling. Event Pocket allows users to create a unified calendar by dragging and dropping appointments and activities from multiple calendars and social media sites. The improved Smart Notice provides more personalised notifications for weather, travel and more. A 3,000mAh removable battery completes the package.
