In the past year or so, Motorola has shown a huge amount of effort when it comes to updating their devices quickly. Not long after the company started the Lollipop soak test for the Moto X, they’re now moving on to it’s less-expensive brother, the Moto G (2nd Generation).

For the most part, soak tests are a good sign that the software update will officially come to the device fairly quickly. What’s more, Motorola posted the release notes for the new update. After taking it down briefly, it’s back online, and ready to be scoured through. If you’d like to take a look at the full release document, head to this link.

Remember, this isn’t a full rollout quite yet, so don’t get too excited. For users who are unfamiliar, a soak test is a company’s way of testing the new software on real-world users, while gathering bug reports and feedback from the selected users. These tests are an important step in the software development process, and usually one of the last stages of development. The full rollout shouldn’t be too far off for the public, so we’ll be sure to update you whenever we get word about the release.

As for the update itself, it doesn’t come with many surprises. All of Moto’s software enhancements will stay put, and all of the expected Lollipop enhancements will be present. Are you excited for Lollipop on your Moto G?
