Microsoft’s first Lumia phone expected to launch on November 11th
t has been a while since Microsoft acquired Nokia as till recently, Lumia devices were still sold under the Nokia branding. But if a teaser on the Nokia Conversations blog is to be believed, Microsoft is all set to launch the first Microsoft branded Lumia device next week on November 11th.
Microsoft has has only headlined the blog post as, “Want to see #MoreLumia?” leaving things open to interpretation. It goes on to say, “Microsoft is delivering the power of everyday mobile technology to everyone.” Considering the flagship and mid-range Lumia devices – Lumia 930, 830 and 730 were launched just recently, we are clearly looking at an entry level Lumia variant.
The Microsoft Lumia phone is expected to be a successor to the Lumia 635. Some days back a Chinese website had leaked images of what appeared to be a Microsoft Lumia branded phone. According to the site, the device, code-named RM-1090, has a 5-inch HD display, 1.2GHz Snapdragon 200 SoC paired with 1GB of RAM, dual SIM configuration, 8GB internal storage. On the camera front, it will most likely have a 5MP rear camera and a VGA front facing camera. The device is expected to be priced around $100 which is approximately Rs 6,200.
We will find out the actual details only next Tuesday.
