OnePlus 7/7T series Getting OxygenOS 11.0.2.1 Update With Fix for Widevine L1, Overheating, and Camera Stability

OnePlus 7 and 7T are currently receiving OxygenOS 11.0.2.1, which includes a fix for Widevine L1 problems as well as the June 2021 security patch.

On the OnePlus Forums, the OxygenOS 11.0.2.1 update was verified to be rolling out, with this OTA providing many fixes for common issues. Due to the Widevine L1 issues, some OnePlus 7/7 Pro and 7T/7T Pro owners were unable to watch movies in apps like as Netflix at resolutions greater than 480p. While this patch fixes the problem, you may need to clear your device cache for it to take effect. It’s inconvenient but not nearly as inconvenient as watching films at poor resolution.

Fixes for battery and power consumption, a better device overheating control, and hazy viewfinders when starting the camera app in certain situations are also included in the OxygenOS 11.0.2.1 update. OnePlus has also installed the June 2021 security patch, which is depressing, to say the least. The complete changelog is available below:

  • System
    • Reduced Power consumption
    • Improved overheating control management
    • Fixed the issue of not being able to play high-definition videos on some video platforms
    • Upgraded Android Security Patch to 2021.06
  • File Manager
    • Fixed the crash issue of the application
  • Camera
    • Fixed the issue that the camera is blurred when shooting on fullscreen size
    • Improved the stability
  • Phone
    • Optimized the dialpad UI display effect

This is a phased rollout, similar to software upgrades, with a small percentage of people receiving it initially to ensure reliability. It will be released to a wider audience when it has been thoroughly tested for major problems. If you have not yet gotten the update, please wait a few days for it to appear. The use of a VPN to get the update may not work, according to OnePlus, because the distribution is not dependent on regions.

Go to Settings > System > System updates to see if you’ve gotten the update.
