Xiaomi 12T launched globally: After a flurry of smartphones with cameras of 108MP, We’re now looking at the future of a camera with 200MP. Just a month after Moto launched the first smartphone equipped with a 200MP camera, Xiaomi followed suit by launching its Xiaomi 12T Pro on global markets. It’s the first camera phone that has 200MP and comes coupled with the Xiaomi 12T standard model with a 108MP camera.
Xiaomi 12T Series Details
The Xiaomi 12T series follows a similar design style to those of the Xiaomi 12 flagship series from earlier in the year. The main difference with this update is that you get a plastic frame here instead of a metal frame. In my opinion, the curved screen of the Pro version has been replaced by a flat-screen model. In addition, there is a cost reduction in the design department.
Xiaomi has created the same display for each 12T and the 12T Pro. It has a 6.67-inch CrystalRes AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh, 480Hz touchscreen sampling rate, a resolution of 2712 x 1220 pixels (higher than Full-HD+), and Gorilla Glass 5 protection (instead of Victus) on top. The display here comes with Dolby Vision as well as Adaptive HDR technology.
Under the hood, Xiaomi 12T Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, and the Xiaomi 12T equips the MediaTek Dimensity 8100 Ultra chipset. There is also 12GB LPDDR5 RAM on the Pro version (8GB on the vanilla version) and up to 256GB UFS 3.1 storage available onboard. Both devices use Android 12-based MIUI 13.
Xiaomi 12T Series Cameras
The 12T series retains the same triple-camera setup with a single sensor on top. The Xiaomi 12 Pro’s 50MP triple camera has been reduced to one large sensor and two small ones. Xiaomi 12T Pro features Samsung’s HP1 camera, 200MP ISOCELL main sensor (1/1.22-inch sensor, optical image stabilization), 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2 megapixel macro lens.
The Xiaomi 12T has an ISOCELL Samsung 108MP primary sensors HM6 (with OIS) and the same 8MP ultra-wide and 2MP macro camera, also available in the Pro model. The Pro model can record up to eight times at 30 frames per second. Both phones have 20MP punch-hole cameras for selfies.

Xiaomi’s 12-T and 12-T Pro are on the same level in terms of battery capacity and charging capacity. Both models have a battery of 5,000mAh and 120W fast charging support. It takes just 19 minutes for HyperCharge technology to charge the battery from zero to 100 percent. It also has dual stereo speakers tuned by Harman Kardon 5G dual-SIMs Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2.
Price and Offers
The Xiaomi 12T starts at 599 Euros (about Rs 48,399), while the 12T Pro costs 749 Euros. On the European market, 12T Pro costs 749 euros (about Rs 60,499).
The new Xiaomi 12T lineup will be available in three color options: black, blue, and silver. There’s no confirmation on whether the lineup will make its way into India shortly. However, we’re optimistic since it is the Xiaomi 11T series did launch in India earlier this year.
