As we approach the global launch date of the Galaxy S5 (which is April 11, by the way), the handset is showing up for ordering in more and more nations as the days progress. Today, the latest Samsung flagship has reached UAE, where the 16GB Snapdragon-powered model can be purchased online for as low as 2,599 AED (approx. $710) in both black and white color options. The phone is listed as in stock at one retailer, though it’s likely orders will only reach consumers on or after April 11.
The Galaxy S5 sports a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED display of 1080p resolution, a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16-megapixel camera, 16GB of storage and a microSD slot,
Wi-Fi, HSPA+, LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, and NFC connectivity, and a 2,800 mAh battery. It runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat with an improved version of Samsung’s custom UI, and comes with unique features like a fingerprint sensor, heart rate monitor, Ultra Power Saving Mode for extended battery life, and a faux leather back cover that’s designed to give users a firmer and more comfortable grip.
