It has been reported that Samsung is planning to discontinue its upper mid-range Galaxy A7 lineup in 2023, resulting in the discontinuation of the Galaxy A74.
There is a possibility that Galaxy A74 might be canceled!
According to a recent report from GalaxyClub, Samsung may not be planning the Galaxy A74 to succeed the Galaxy A73, which means that no Galaxy A7x phones will be released in the future. As a result, the Galaxy A54 might be the top model of the Galaxy A series.
It is unknown why Samsung might cancel the Galaxy S22 FE, but it may be because Samsung is trying to get rid of some non-essential phone models. With no word on whether or not that model will be discontinued, there might be fewer options for users in the middle of the phone price range. If so, this could result in a vast gap between affordable devices like the Galaxy A series and more expensive devices like the Galaxy S and Galaxy Z foldable phone series. And although this may work out well for some people, it would likely create issues for Samsung, given that these other devices compete with their pricier top-of-the-line models.
It is unlikely that Samsung will ditch the Galaxy A7 series, but it may introduce the Galaxy A54 instead of the Galaxy A74.
For those unfamiliar, the Galaxy A74 is expected to come with an AMOLED display with support for a 120Hz refresh rate and an in-display fingerprint sensor. In addition to 50MP cameras with OIS and an Exynos 1380 chipset, the smartphone is expected to include an IP68 rating, a 5,100mAh battery, and One UI 5.0 based on Android 13.
It is expected that the Galaxy A34, Galaxy A24, and Galaxy A14 will also launch soon. Previous leaks showed the Galaxy A53 with three vertically placed rear cameras and a punch-hole screen.
It is a rumor, and we are still determining what Samsung plans to do with the smartphone. We should know more once 2023 arrives, so stay tuned.
