KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, known to make accurate predictions about Apple products, has issued a research note for investors. And, Macrumours has managed to get their hands on a copy that reveals Kuo’s predictions about the upcoming iPhone SE. Yes, a recent report had claimed the company will drop the ‘5’ from the name and call it the iPhone SE. The research note also hints at both single and dual camera variants of the iPhone 7 Plus.
Ming-Chi Kuo claims that the 4-inch iPhone will feature a similar specs sheet as the iPhone 6s. The device is likely to get a 12MP rear snapper, instead of the previously rumoured 8MP rear camera. In terms of design, it is likely to be similar to the iPhone 5s but with a slightly more curved 2.5D glass, which is in line with what we’ve been hearing.
The new 4-inch iPhone is expected to offer 16GB and 64GB storage capacities, and a large 1642mAh battery. The connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 4.2, Live Photos support and more. The device won’t get 3D Touch, which will remain exclusive to the iPhone 6s.
Kuo has also spoken about the cost of the device, which she predicts could be somewhere between $400 and $500 in the US. Needless to say, the lower price point is aimed at mid to low segment and help Apple drive sales from emerging countries like China and also India. Kuo also predicts that the 5s may get a 50 percent price cut. However, this could also mean people fine with a smaller display could opt for the cheaper 5s. It should be noted that Apple is expected to see first sales dip in more than a decade.
KGI Securities believes 4-inch iPhone shipments will grow by 131 percent year-over-year to 37 million units by 2016. The research forecasts a lower shipment of 12 million units from 18-20 million units as it believes customers who favor a small-size iPhone may purchase the cheaper iPhone 5s.

Apple is expected to announce the new 4-inch iPhone, alongside a new 9.7-inch iPad Pro. One can also expect some Apple Watch updates as well.
