As a number of launch events approach closer with the start of the upcoming Mobile World Congress, it is the time for brands to step up and build some excitement. Samsung seems to be doing a pretty good job with a new campaign and has released its first teaser ad for its upcoming Galaxy S7 smartphone.
The campaign hosted at www.sevendaysofunboxing.com (thanks to our reader for the tip) on Samsung’s social channels hints at what could be expected from the next Galaxy S7. In the video we see a 5-year old child entering the display room and then walking out to sketch what the child sees in the booth. Although the sketches look vague, we do get some hints. Still then, things are going to get a lot more weird, as we are expecting a llama to unbox the Galaxy S7 next.
The campaign run by Samsung Nordic is called the ‘Seven Days of Unboxing’ and will see the flagship smartphone being visualised by a child, a lama, a confectioner, a metal worker, an ice sculptor and finally an airbrush artist who should be able to give fans a clear sketch of what is in store at the final launch, that takes place on the 21 March at the MWC 2016.
HTC and Amazon pulled out a series of similar ads prior to the launch of One M8 and with the Fire Phone. But we are a bit excited to see a llama unbox a smartphone indeed.
According to a previous leak, the smartphone is supposed to pack in an Exynos 8890 chipset and a camera with a smaller sensor but a bigger battery. According to Tweakers, the Samsung Galaxy S7 will be priced at EUR 699.99 (approximately Rs 53,500) while the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge will start at EUR 799.99 (approximately Rs 61,000) for their 32GB models. It will mostly come in black, gold and white colour variants.
The official unpacking of the next Galaxy will take place in Barcelona on February 21st at 19:00 CET.
