AMD Ryzen Pro 6000 Processors for Business Laptops Announced; Here’s Everything You Need to Know!
AMD has upgraded its Ryzen Pro CPUs portfolio for business-focused laptops after revealing its Ryzen 6000 series processors for laptops and PCs at CES 2022. The firm has launched a slew of new CPUs in its Ryzen Pro 6000 range, which it claims are the most powerful processors for business workstations in the world. So, let’s have a look at the specifics down below.
AMD Ryzen Pro 6000 Series CPU Specifications
AMD has unveiled six new Ryzen Pro 6000 H-series CPUs, including H and HS-branded Ryzen 5 Pro, 7 Pro, and 9 Pro CPUs. It has also released two new CPUs under the Pro 6000 U series, the Ryzen 5 Pro 6650U and the Ryzen 7 Pro 6850U. AMD has also released the Ryzen Pro 5000-U series CPUs.

All of the CPUs are based on the Zen 3+ architecture and were built on a 6nm node. They offer a 30 percent improvement in performance over its predecessors. Three of the eight new Ryzen Pro 6000-series processors have a 6-core/ 12-thread architecture, while the others have an 8-core/ 16-thread design.
Furthermore, AMD’s RDNA 2 built-in graphics are combined with the Ryzen Pro 6000 CPUs to give higher graphical performance than ever before.
According to AMD’s testing, the Ryzen 7 Pro 6850U CPU performs 1.1 times better at 15W TDP than its predecessor and roughly 1.3 times quicker at its claimed 28W TDP. In terms of graphics performance, the processor can give 1.5 times higher graphical speed at 15W TDP and 2.1 times faster GPU performance at 28W TDP owing to the built-in RDNA 2 GPU.
AMD’s U-series CPUs were also put to the test against Intel’s 12th-Gen 28W P-series products. While the new Ryzen Pro 6000-series processors outperformed the Intel CPUs in a variety of benchmark tests, including Cinebench R23 multi-thread performance, the firm said that the Intel CPUs outperformed the Ryzen Pro 6000-series processors in single-core performance.
In terms of battery life, AMD claims that the new Ryzen Pro CPUs will deliver the best-in-class battery performance. On the MobileMark 2018 benchmarking tool, the business examined an HP EliteBook 865 G9 with a 76Whr battery and 150 nits of brightness. On a single charge, it provided 26 hours of battery life.
When it comes to security, the new Ryzen Pro 6000 CPUs are the first x86 processors to include built-in Microsoft Pluton, which is a level 2 security platform that protects laptops from digital assaults and improves hardware-software interaction. Furthermore, the new Ryzen Pro 6000 CPUs feature Windows Autopilot, which makes it easier and faster for administrators to set up new Windows PCs.
Moving on to business laptops that use AMD’s newest Ryzen Pro CPUs, partner firms such as HP and Lenovo have already released EliteBook and ThinkPad Z-series laptops that use these latest AMD processors. Apart from HP and Lenovo, AMD claims that other partner businesses will release Ryzen Pro 6000-powered laptops in the near future.
