Android 14 Beta: Details
You’ll need a compatible Pixel phone to get your hands on Android 14. The beta update is available for the Pixel 4a 5G, Pixel 5, Pixel 5a, Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6a, Pixel 7, and Pixel 7 Pro. Unfortunately, the Pixel 4a’s 4G version is not included in the list of supported devices.
If you want to try out Android 14, you can join the Android beta program and receive the beta update as an over-the-air (OTA) update. And if you’re already part of the beta program, you’ll automatically receive access to the beta update. However, remember that beta software is usually buggy, so be prepared for some issues.
So, what’s new in Android 14? While it may not come with major feature additions, there are several performance, privacy, and security refinements. You’ll notice changes in the system UI, including a new back button that matches the Material You theme, a revamped share sheet, and more. Additionally, enhancements to the per-app language preferences were introduced in Android 13.
