Google has released its monthly report revealing the platform distribution numbers for Android. According to Android Developers blog KitKat 4.4 has reached a share of 8.5 percent, which is up from 5.3 percent last month. Last month, Google revealed that Kitkat had gained the most as its share of 2.3 percent rose to 5.3 percent in the month of March. It was largely attributed to Samsung and LG releasing phones running KitKat out of the box. These included the flagship Galaxy S5 from Samsung and LG’s L70 and L90 smartphones which were launched in March in India.
