Apple iPhone Air Launch: Ultra-Slim Build, A19 Pro Beast Power & All-Day Battery

Apple has introduced the long-rumored iPhone Air during its “Awe Dropping” event at the Steve Jobs Theater. The new phone joins the iPhone 17 lineup and brings a fresh design approach. It is Apple’s thinnest iPhone yet, paired with the powerful A19 Pro chip, a ProMotion display, and a battery that lasts all day.

iPhone Air: Apple’s Thinnest iPhone Ever

The iPhone Air is the first phone to carry the “Air” name. At just 5.6 mm thick and weighing 165 grams, it is light, slim, and easy to hold. Apple built it with aluminum and glass, with Ceramic Shield 2 protecting both the front and the back. Despite its thin frame, the phone feels strong and durable.

The Camera Control button, first seen on the iPhone 16, makes a return here. On the front, the phone features a 6.5-inch Super Retina XDR display with 120 Hz ProMotion for smooth scrolling and sharp visuals. The screen can reach brightness levels of up to 3,000 nits, ensuring clear visibility even in direct sunlight. On the back, Apple opted for a minimalist design featuring a single 48 MP Fusion camera, which includes sensor-shift optical stabilization for steady shots. The front camera features an 18 MP sensor and includes Center Stage support, allowing for dynamic framing during video calls. Additionally, both the front and rear cameras are capable of recording video in impressive 4K resolution at 60 frames per second.

iPhone Air: Battery Life and Charging

Even with its slim size, the iPhone Air packs a silicon-carbon battery that can last up to 27 hours of video playback, according to Apple. Fast charging can bring the battery to 50 percent in just 30 minutes. Apple has also built a special external battery pack for the Air, extending usage to nearly 40 hours.

iPhone Air: Performance and Features

Inside, the phone is powered by the new A19 Pro chip, built on a 3 nm process. This chip works alongside Apple’s N1 chip and C1x modem for better speed, graphics, and connectivity. The phone also includes 12 GB of memory and comes in three storage options: 256 GB, 512 GB, and 1 TB.

The iPhone Air runs on iOS 26, which introduces the new Liquid Glass interface, more personalization options, and Apple Intelligence features.

iPhone Air: Colors, Price, and Release Date

The iPhone Air will be available in four colors: Space Black, Cloud White, Light Gold, and Sky Blue. Prices start at $999 (roughly ₹88,100) for the 256 GB model, with higher costs for 512 GB and 1 TB versions.

Pre-orders open on September 12, 2025, through Apple’s official website and stores.
