Asus ROG Strix Scar 17 Special Edition: Asus has launched a new gaming laptop in India as part of the ROG Strix Scar series, which was first announced in May. The new ROG Strix Scar 17 Special Edition (SE) has the latest Intel 12th Gen HX series CPU, a 240Hz QHD display, and enhanced performance features.

The new hidden design of the ROG Strix Scar 17 SE comprises specially created invisible ink on the metal lid. This is visible with the included UV lamp. There’s also a Dot matrix pattern on the lid and a wraparound light bar with increased LED density and more LEDs.
The ROG slash patterns also feature several Citadel-related easter eggs. The laptop also includes customizable Armor caps that can be 3D-printed, as well as a Backlit Chiclet Keyboard with RGB illumination per key.
It offers a 17.3-inch IPS WQHD screen with a 240Hz framerate, a 16:9 aspect ratio, 300 nits brightness, and a 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut. Dolby Vision, HDR, and AdaptiveSync are all supported.
The laptop is equipped with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080Ti GPU and a 12th Generation Core i9-12950HX CPU (with up to a 175W max TGP). 32GB of DDR5 RAM (which may be upgraded to 64GB) and up to 4TB of PCIe 4 x 4 SSD storage are included with the Strix Scar 17 SE.
The laptop, which supports a 330W adapter, is powered by a 90Whr battery. There are two USB 3.2 ports, an audio jack, a Type-C port with Thunderbolt 4, a Type-C port with USB 3.2, a power input connector, an HDMI 2.1 port, a Keystone, and a fast Ethernet controller.
The Strix Scar 17 SE incorporates a revolutionary Vapor Chamber cooling system using Thermal Grizzly’s Conductonaut Extreme Liquid metal for both the CPU and the GPU. There’s also support for the MUX Switch for improved performance and lower latencies when gaming, as well as four Dolby Atmos speakers. Smart Amplifier Technology and AI noise-canceling technology are also supported by the speakers.
