God Of War Ragnarök: Which Edition to Buy?

The God of War franchise has been a long-running and popular series for the PlayStation since 2005. The newest installment is called “God of War: Ragnarök,” and some fans wonder if it is worth the purchase. In this article, we’ll go through the differences between the different editions to help you decide which one to buy!

The 3 New God of War “Ragnarök” Edition Available

The PlayStation Store (India , International) has three versions of the game available. The ₹5,599 ($80) Digital Deluxe Edition comes with a bunch of extra goodies, mainly access to digital content that gives you an advantage in the game. Of course, there are also two standard editions at different prices: ₹3,999 ($60) and ₹4,999 ($70).

For the PS4 version of the game, you’ll need to pay ₹3,999 ($60). If this doesn’t fit your budget, try the PS4 and PS5 cross-gen editions ₹4,999 ($70)! With no other hidden costs, there is no upgrade path to a PS5 purchase as it comes standard with this set.

If you have a PlayStation 5, it’s recommended to go for the ₹4,999 ($70) editions. If you’re still rocking a PlayStation 4, the best option might be the ₹3,999 ($60) one. Unlike with other first-party games, there is no free upgrade option to the PS5 when you buy this game edition. You must pay an extra ₹600 ($10) to upgrade to playing on a PS5.

If you’re a God of War fan, then the ₹5,599 ($80) Digital Deluxe Edition is right up your alley. As well as playing God of War: Ragnarok on PS4 and PS5, you’ll also get a cross-gen copy with the following goodies:

  • God of War Ragnarok PS4 and PS5
  • Darkdale Armour
  • Darkdale Attire (Cosmetic)
  • Darkdale Axe Grip
  • Darkdale Blades Handles
  • Dark Horse digital art book
  • Official digital soundtrack
  • PSN avatar set for PS4/PS5

The two-tiered editions offer different in-game bonuses. The high-level bonuses to look out for are the armor, axe grip, and blade handles. If you don’t care about a digital art book, soundtrack, or avatar set, stick with the base ₹3,999 ($60) or ₹4,999 ($70) editions.

If you want to buy the game and start playing it ASAP, that’s easy. However, if you purchase the game’s physical version, those editions take more work to find.

God of War Ragnarök: Collector’s Edition

Because we love getting all the physical things, when you purchase our Collector’s Edition, you get a replica of Mjölnir—Thor’s hammer! We also send an extra in-game bonus and all the stuff included in the Deluxe Edition. While there is no disc included, folks with a PS5 just with no disc drive will also enjoy this edition.

Suppose you’re considering picking up the Collector’s Edition of The Dark Eye: Jotnar Edition. In that case, you’ll be glad to know that it comes with much extra content. Not only does it include the game and all its downloadable content, but you also get a poster, soundtrack, artbook, and special edition packaging. The only downside is that the Jotnar Edition is a bit more expensive at ₹13,499 ($260). However, it’s worth it if you’re interested in getting all the extra goodies.

Suppose you’re looking to catch the newest installment of God of War: Ragnarök. In that case, you’ll want to buy either the standard or collector’s edition. However, the Standard Edition is a good option if you only have limited funds and don’t want to spend too much money. Which God of War: Ragnarök version is best for you?
