After the launch of the budget Desire 10 Lifestyle, HTC India is now looking at launching its more expensive sibling, the Desire 10 Pro on the 24 November. The company has started sending out invites for the event in a letter that highlights the words “latest innovation in sound and camera.”
Indeed we will see the Dual SIM version of the HTC Desire 10 Pro being launched in India. While the Desire 10 Lifestyle did not go big on specifications with 2GB RAM and a Snapdragon 400, the Pro model is expected to make up for this.
The HTC Desire 10 Pro features a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS LCD display packing in Corning’s Gorilla Glass screen to protect it. Inside you get a 1.8GHz octa-core P10 chipset by MediaTek which was also available on the older One X9. Paired with this processor is 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage which is expandable to 2TB using a microSD card.
At the back is a 20MP camera with laser autofocus while the front side features a 13MP unit with an f/2.2 aperture.
There’s Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, NFC, and 4G LTE Cat. 6 for connectivity and the smartphone is powered by a 3,000mAh battery.
While the specifications seem decent and bank more on camera performance than anything else, HTC’s pricing has always been worrisome. They did the same with the One X9 packing in a MediaTek Helio P10, 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage, with a premium metal body, priced ridiculously high at Rs 29,999 at launch (now Rs 21,999). With the Desire 10 Pro, expect it to be priced similarly or even higher thanks to the upgraded cameras.
