While rumours have hinted at a fitness-related Healthbook app that works in tandem with the iWatch, we’ve also got a first sneak peek into what looks like Apple’s upcoming mobile OS iteration. 9To5Mac has got its hands on the first screenshot of the alleged iOS 8, owing to an image posted on Chinese social networking site, Weibo. The leaked image shows new apps that will possibly arrive with iOS 8 namely, Healthbook, Preview, TextEdit and Tips.
We’ve already heard about the Healthbook app that is expected to work in tandem with the iWatch, while the Preview and TextEdit are Mac apps that Apple possibly now plans to bring to iOS. The screenshot also shows the Tips app, which is speculated to be a user guide for using iOS 8 on devices.
The report further suggests that Mac apps such as Preview and TextEdit will most likely come with limited functionality. Users may not be able to edit these photos or documents using these apps, and could be made available only for viewing files on the iOS devices via iCloud.
The news site claims that based on its talks with “several sources”, these images could be real. However, we’d suggest take it with a pinch of salt for now.
