MediaTek Dimensity 1300 5G SoC has been released, and it makes its debut with the OnePlus Nord 2T.
With the debut of its new Dimensity 1300 SoC, MediaTek has introduced another 5G mobile chipset to its Dimensity series. The chipset is a follow-up to last year’s Dimensity 1200 chipset, and it uses the same TSMC 6nm design. It’s an octa-core CPU with a few notable improvements over its predecessor.
The MediaTek Dimensity 1300 SoC has been released.
The MediaTek Dimensity 1300 SoC has 8 cores, 4 of which are ARM Cortex-A78. There is a 3GHz “Ultra” core among them, while the other 3 are 2.6GHz “Super” cores. The chipset also has four Cortex-A55 efficiency cores with a 2GHz clock speed. The CPU has a nine-core ARM Mali-G77 MC9 GPU for graphics capability.
In addition, MediaTek claims that its newest chipset has HyperEngine 5.0 gaming technology, which is an enhancement over the Dimensity 1200 SoC. Thanks to Bluetooth LE Audio technology with Dual-Link True Wireless Stereo Audio, the business claims that the newest gaming technology delivers various special features including AI-VRS, Wi-Fi/ Bluetooth Hybrid 2.0, and upgrades for TWS earphones.
The new Dimensity 1300 SoC also has a six-core APU 3.0 for enhanced AI capabilities. Furthermore, the chipset supports the company’s Imagiq Camera, which provides better low-light picture capture and a 40% higher dynamic range in 4K HDR video recording than regular 4K HDR video. The display supports a refresh rate of up to 168Hz, a maximum screen resolution of 2520 x 1080 pixels, and MiraVision improved video playback.
Aside from these features, the chipset has a built-in 5G modem for super-fast 5G NR performance, dual 5G SIM support, and mixed-duplex 5G carrier aggregation. It also has two unique 5G modes, including a “5G Elevator Mode” and a “5G HSR Mode.” It also supports the most recent Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 technologies, as well as LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 3.1 storage.
The next OnePlus Nord 2T is likely to be one of the handsets that will use the new Dimensity 1300 chipset. The chipset is expected to make its debut with the aforementioned gadget in the coming weeks, with other devices following later in the year.
