In addition to unveiling the RTX 40 series GPUs for laptops, Nvidia also announced the RTX 4070 Ti GPU for desktop computers at CES 2023. With the new Ada Lovelace architecture this year, we are hearing great things about the power efficiency numbers of Nvidia’s new GPUs. Read on to learn more about all the new GPUs introduced by Nvidia.
The NVIDIA RTX 4090, 4080, 4070, 4060, and 4050 graphics cards: Details
In terms of performance and power efficiency, the new Nvidia RTX 40 series laptop GPUs are a breakthrough. Nvidia claims that laptop GPUs based on Ada Lovelace architecture consume one-third less GPU power than previous-generation models while delivering higher performance and better performance with DLSS 3 upscaling. The RTX 40 series mobile GPUs also support AV1 hardware encoding/decoding.
As a result of the lowest voltage GDDR6 memory on the RTX 40 series mobile GPUs, power consumption is significantly reduced. In addition, the tri-speed memory controller allows the GPU to enter a low-power memory state dynamically. Moreover, the fifth-generation Max-Q technology promises to increase the battery life by up to 2x.
Regarding their performance, the RTX 4090 and 4080, with 9728 (16GB GDDR6) and 7424 (16GB GDDR6) CUDA cores, can provide an enhanced gaming experience. It can even handle three 4K monitors at 60fps while gaming and streaming at 4k60fps with AV1 encoding. Additionally, they have dual encoders, drastically reducing the time taken for video export. The Nvidia RTX 4090 and 4080 will be released in the market starting February 8 and will cost around $1,999 initially.
The RTX 4070, 4060, and 4050 laptop GPUs are perfect for 1440p gaming and offer up to 80fps. With 4608 (8GB), 3072 (8GB), and 2560 (6GB) CUDA cores, respectively, Nvidia has also managed to reduce the rendering time of scenes in Blender from two and a half hours to just 10 minutes. These mobile GPUs can also handle games like Cyberpunk 2077 with ray tracing and DLSS support. Starting February 22, laptops powered by RTX 4050 will become available at $999.
The Nvidia RTX 4070 Ti GPU has also been launched at CES 2023.
In the past, Nvidia released RTX 4090 and 4080 GPUs that were sky-highly priced. However, the company has now released a new RTX 40 series desktop GPU that is reasonably priced. With dual AV1 encoders, the RTX 4070 Ti will reduce video export time by half when using programs like Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or OBS. If you are unaware, the RTX 4070 Ti is a rebranded version of the RTX 4080 12GB.
In addition, it improves performance in 3D rendering programs like Autodesk Maya, Blender, Chaos V-Ray, Epic Games Unreal Engine, and Unity by up to 70%. Nvidia RTX Ti GPUs will be available for $799 starting January 5, thanks to the 4th-generation Tensor Cores for AI tools.
