Since the introduction of Pokemon Unite, a 5v5 MOBA Pokemon game, on the Nintendo Switch in July of this year, fans have been excitedly awaiting its arrival on mobile devices. And, as promised and hinted earlier this week, Pokemon Unite is now available to download internationally on Android and iOS devices.
Pokemon Unite, for those who are unfamiliar, is a League of Legends-style MOBA game created by The Pokemon Company and Tencent’s Timi studios. It puts teams of five Pokemon against each other, to score the most points by defeating both wild and enemy Pokemon. Your points will only be counted if you can dump them in the opponent goal zones.
It contains information on maps, playable Pokemons, the in-app coin and ticket system, and other data. If you are one of the 5 million people who pre-registered for the game, you will receive Aeos tickets, a Pikachu Unite license, and other goodies.
I’ve already downloaded the game for my OnePlus Nord, which runs Android 11. The Pokemon Unite mobile download size is about 550MB, but you must download an extra 550MB before you can play the game. You may watch the gameplay video below to get a better picture of the 5v5 battles:
It’s critical to understand two things regarding Pokemon Unite right now. To begin, the game enables cross-play, which means that Android and iOS players, as well as Nintendo Switch users, may play against each other. Second, the game has cross-progression support. That means you can easily transfer your progress from Nintendo Switch to your smartphone. Your Pokemon Unite data is linked to your Nintendo or Pokemon Trainer Club account.
Furthermore, the mobile release coincides with the release of Pokemon Unite’s first-ever big update. The v1.2 patch includes several critical bug fixes as well as balancing adjustments to the Pokemon list in the game. Galactic Ghost 094 is a new battle pass containing space-themed items, a new Unite Squads function, and nerfs/buffs for the existing Pokemon roster.
You’ll also be happy to know that the creators are working on a new game mode. According to the official blog post, it will “level the playing field for all Trainers, regardless of the grades of their holding items.” So, let’s put on our trainer gear and get into this action-packed Pokemon MOBA game.
