Rumor: Apple Watch coming in spring 2015
Apple launched its all-new watch category in September and left us with a vague release date of “early 2015.” Now, this window has been narrowed down Apple retail chief Angela Ahrendts who said that the wearable should reach markets by spring.
9To5Mac has got its hands on the transcript of the video message shared by Ahrendts, who is the Apple Senior Vice President of Retail and Online Stores, with the Apple retail employees. It reads, “We’re going into the holidays, we’ll go into Chinese New Year, and then we’ve got a new watch launch coming in the spring.”
Now, she says that the launch is after the Chinese New Year, which indicates the device isn’t coming before mid-February. Moreover, spring in the US starts by mid of March and ends by mid June, so we have a fair idea when to expect the new watch.
Citing some sources, the report further states Apple executives have started planning retail strategies for the watch. All retail employees will be trained to help customers try out the new watch and its features.
“iPhones, Macs, iPads, and iPods in retail stores are secured via wires to showroom tables, so Apple actually allowing customers to try on the product before purchase will be a new experience for the company. Ahrendts is said to believe that retail-based watch sales will deepen relationships with customers, which is critical for future sales,” adds the report.
The Apple watch has got a squarish screen and it will be coming in three distinct collection and two different sizes. The three editions are Apple Watch, Apple Watch Sport and Apple Watch Edition. Apple Watch Edition is plated with 18 karat gold.
