India is a market Google has been increasingly focusing on lately, and the company has launched the Samsung Chromebook in the country as yet another step towards increasing its presence in the region. The Chromebook is priced at Rs. 26,990, and will be available from retail and online stores Reliance Digital, Croma and Flipkart from December 11th.
The Samsung Chromebook isn’t the most high-end of the Chromebooks available in India, but it still sports respectable specs
– there’s a 11.6-inch 1336×768 display, 1.7GHz dual-core Exynos 5250 processor, 2GB of DDR3L RAM, 16GB of on-board storage and 100GB of free Google Drive storage for two years, a VGA webcam, Wi-Fi connectivity, one USB 3.0 and two USB 2.0 ports, and a 4,080 mAh battery.
As Chromebooks depend on an internet connection to carry out most functions, Google has tied up with operators Airtel and Tikon to offer exclusive data plans, details for which can be found here and here.
