Samsung Exynos 2600 Breaks Cover: Geekbench Scores Rival Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5

A new Samsung processor, the Exynos 2600, has recently emerged in an online performance test. The results indicate that this chip could be a strong competitor to Qualcomm’s upcoming flagship processor, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. It is anticipated that the Exynos 2600 will power some future Galaxy S26 models.

Samsung Exynos 2600: Performance Details

A known source shared information on the social media platform X. They tested the Exynos 2600 processor using Geekbench, a tool that measures processor speed. The device has the code S5E9965.

Its scores were impressive. It reached 3,455 points in the single-core test, which measures how fast a single processor core operates. For the multi-core test, which uses all the processor’s cores at once, it scored 11,621 points.

When compared to the leaked scores for the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, the story gets interesting. The Snapdragon chip scored slightly higher (by 376 points) in the single-core test. However, the Exynos 2600 actually scored higher (by 97 points) in the more critical multi-core test. This multi-core performance is a better indicator of how a phone handles demanding tasks like gaming or video editing.

What’s Inside the Chip

The Exynos 2600 uses a 10-core design, which is a different approach from some rivals.

  • One powerful core (Cortex-X930) runs at 3.8 GHz for the most intensive jobs.
  • Three balanced cores (Cortex-A730) run at 3.26 GHz for everyday heavy tasks.
  • Six efficiency cores (Cortex-A730S) run at 2.76 GHz to handle background tasks and conserve battery life.

This combination gives you power when you need it, while also keeping the battery life good.

A key fact is that this will be Samsung’s first chip built on its new 2nm manufacturing process. This advanced technology, called Gate-All-Around (GAA), enables better control of power and heat. If successful, this could mean the Exynos 2600 is both powerful and efficient, without overheating.

A Comeback for Samsung’s Chips

For a long time, many phone experts and users have considered Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chips superior to Samsung’s Exynos line. Phones with Exynos processors were often seen as less powerful or less battery-efficient than their Snapdragon counterparts.

The Exynos 2600 could be Samsung’s chance to change that story. Rumors suggest that the standard Galaxy S26 and the larger S26+ will use this new Exynos chip. The top-tier model, the S26 Ultra, is expected to stick with the Snapdragon chip. This strategy lets Samsung offer its own powerful chip in many markets while still using the established Snapdragon brand for its most expensive phone.

Samsung is also working on a new connectivity chip to pair with the Exynos 2600. It shows a larger plan to create a more unified, optimized system of its own components for future phones.

While there is always a chance for delays, the early look at the Exynos 2600 is promising. It points to a future where Samsung’s own processors are truly competitive at the highest level. When these phones are released, all eyes will be on real-world tests to see whether this performance translates into a better user experience.
