A few days before CES 2023, Samsung released a few monitors, including the Odyssey Neo G9. It is touted as the world’s first dual UHD monitor, which AMD teased at its event in November 2022. The company also announced three other products: the Odyssey OLED G9, the ViewFinity S9, and the Smart Monitor M8. Check out the details below.
Samsung Odyssey Neo G9: Features and Details
Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 (Model Name: G95NC) has a 57-inch curved display that supports VESA Display HDR 1000 and has a curvature of 1000R.
This monitor has an 8K screen resolution (7,860 x 2,160 pixels) and a 240Hz refresh rate. The matte display reduces light reflection.
It has a 1ms response time and a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio.
As previously revealed, there’s also support for DisplayPort 2.1 connectivity, which enables data transfer two times faster than DisplayPort 1.4. Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 supports AMD’s FreeSync system and lossless Display Stream Compression (DSC) through DP 2.1.
Odyssey OLED G9 and More Announced by Samsung
The Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 (G95SC) with 49-inch dual quad-HD curved (1800R) display. The display comes with Samsung’s quantum dot technology, a 32:9 aspect ratio, and a 1,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. Samsung’s Gaming Hub, Netflix, YouTube, and Amazon Prime Video apps, as well as a 0.1ms response time and 240Hz refresh rate.
This 27-inch 4K ViewFinity S9 monitor features a DCI-P3 color gamut, Delta E 2 color accuracy, and a Color Calibration Engine and supports USB-C, Thunderbolt 4, 4K SlimFit camera, as well as Samsung Smart Hub applications.
A 27-inch display (in addition to a 32-inch display) with a 4K resolution is included in the new Smart Monitor M8. The display can be rotated by up to 90 degrees and has a stand that can be adjusted in height. In addition to a 2K SlimFit camera, Samsung Smart Hub/Gaming Hub, Samsung Knox Vault, and the ability to control various connected devices (lights, cameras, doorbells, locks, and more) via SmartThings Hub, the device includes access to Samsung Smart Hub/Gaming Hub.
There are still a few details to be revealed, such as price and availability.
