Sony has announced two more products in its SmartWear lineup – SmartBand Talk and SmartWatch 3. Both these products will sync with the Lifelog app and track various parameters that we had seen with the SmartBand. Sony has not revealed the prices yet, we will update you on the same when the products hit the stores in December.
SmartBand Talk comes with a built-in microphone and speaker. Just like we saw with the original Samsung Gear, the SmartBand Talk allows you to talk and hear your caller with HD voice support. SmartBand Talk also sports a 1.4-inch e-paper display which gives instant feedback. You can monitor your Lifelog activities, view notifications as well as time at a glance. It comes with a new built-in accelerometer and altimeter sensor technology to provide an accurate overview of your daily physical activity; whether it be walking, running or climbing. SmartBand Talk is waterproof.
The other device announced was the SmartWatch 3 , which runs on Android Wear. For SmartWatch 3, Sony has collaborated with Google’s Android Wear platform. Android Wear organizes your information, suggests what you need, and shows it to you before you even ask. You can get messages from your friends, appointment notifications, and weather updates at a glance. It could be flight information, tips based on your interests or messages of any kind, so user input is seldom necessary. But if you need to interact with Android Wear, voice is easiest way.
SmartWatch 3 comes with its own standalone applications as well. It has a built-in microphone, accelerometer, compass, gyrometer and GPS sensor which assists with accurate lifelogging. It sports a 1.6-inch 320×320 TFT LCD transreflective display to help in easy viewability in sunlight. Just like the SmartBand Talk, the SmartWatch 3 is also water proof and it charges via a microUSB port. It comes with 4GB onboard storage allowing you to add music and sync playlists.
