Yahoo Answers Shutting Down: Yahoo Messenger has shut down almost three years ago, in 2018, following a staggering 20-year history. Still, Yahoo, which is owned by Verizon, has agreed to close down yet another website. Yahoo Answers, a famous Q&A website, will be shut down on May 4th.
Yahoo Answers Shutting Down: Yahoo declared the closure at the top of the Yahoo Answers homepage, according to The Verge (image below). The unexpected announcement includes a guide to a FAQ page that explains the platform’s closure timetable in greater depth. It also says that after April 20, Yahoo Answers will not approve any new entries or submissions.
For the uninitiated, Yahoo Answers was first introduced in 2005. The website has been one of the longest-running Q&A services on the internet since its inception.
Yahoo, on the other hand, believes that the website has become “less successful over time.” As a result, Yahoo has decided to divert attention away from the app to “focus on goods that best serve [its] members,” according to a note sent to Yahoo Answers users.
