Daniel Araujo, Vice President of Samsung’s Mobile Experience Division, confirmed that the Galaxy S26 series, including the much-anticipated Galaxy S26 Ultra, will feature Samsung’s own Exynos chips, enhanced artificial intelligence capabilities, and major camera upgrades. He described the S26 lineup as a leap toward “user-centered AI,” powered by a custom-built processor and new imaging sensors designed to make smartphone experiences more intelligent and personal.
Although Araujo didn’t mention the name directly, his “custom AP” reference almost certainly points to the Exynos 2600. Reports suggest that at least one model in the Galaxy S26 lineup will carry this in-house processor. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. At the same time, the standard and Plus variants may showcase Samsung’s latest Exynos chip.
Interestingly, leaks indicate Samsung has been developing a proprietary Exynos connectivity chip, possibly paired with the Exynos 2600 in some regions. This could signal a return to Samsung’s dual-chip strategy, which it skipped with the Galaxy S25.

The Exynos 2600 is reportedly being built using Samsung’s advanced 2nm Gate-All-Around (GAA) process technology.
